Producing vehicles in Europe in 2009 has shrunk by 17.3 percent compared with 2008, reaching the lowest levels since 1996. The decline amounted to 23% compared with levels before the crisis in 2007 This is clear from the economic report of the European Association of car manufacturers ACEA, which is published three times a year. \

Production of passenger cars decreased by 13%. This is the biggest cuts in production since 1993, when the production of passenger cars decreased by 15.1%. In the last quarter of 2009, however, recorded growth of over 20 percent in production compared to 2008, suggesting improvement in the situation in the automotive industry.
